The “PURA VIDA” adventure started in 1995. Specialising in open-air activities, “PURA VIDA” has now become a hot-spot for all water sports enthusiasts.

In 2003, Stan, Leif and Fred, close friends, surf maniacs and kite instructors, decided to create the first kite school in Las Terrenas. Situated on the beach in the heart of the village, the club offers you lessons, rental, and excursions in kitesurfing, wake boarding , surfing and mountain biking.

The Centre

PURA VIDA is the first  IKO Certified Center in Las Terrenas area. The kiteschool is located in front of one of the best kite spot in Las Terrenas, right in the middle of town for your convenience.
Based in the new Pueblo de los Pescadores, in front of El Paseo,  the school is open every day.

Close to the club you will find all kind of amenities: Beach restaurants , internet café , cash machine , renting motos and quads

Those who like tranquillity and nature can also adjourn to the magnificent beach of Playa Bonita  only minutes away, where our Surfing School “PURA VIDA”  is located.

We can organize your transfer from the airport.
There are several possibilities, either by a domestic flight to the “El Portillo” airport / Las Terrenas, or by taxi or air-conditioned bus.

The Team

“PURA VIDA” is teaching using  IKO instructors (three level 1, one level 2), who are supported by young Dominican IKO assistants, some of which have already proved their abilities in the professional world tour . Share their good temper all along your vacation and have fun with them!

About our team:

Leif,
IKO Instructor level 2 and co-manager of “PURA VIDA”, he has been living in the Dominican Republic since the age of two years. This “unconditional rider” is also a proven coach. Being a young father, he has unlimited patience!!!

Stan,

An IKO Instructor as well and co-manager of the kiteboarding center , Stan has been living in the Dominican Republic since 1997 and since then, has done nothing , just riding and surfing along all the Dominican north coast and South America

Joseph Carneiro
Born in Brasil , Joseph became one of the first IKO instructor in 1999 and then IKO examiners in 2001
In 2002 he started his own career as a pro rider for Takoon kite company, winning different title around Latin’s countries : Brasil Champion in 2003 and South American championship also.

Now Joseph is sponsorised by starkites , back from Brasil to las terrenas , to become partner of his friends and join the Pura Vida Family as Manager of marketing and communications
